Passports will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Requesting a passport before the deadline doesn’t guarantee it will be ready at the immigration office. Delays may occur. And isn’t that part of the beauty of Bureaucracy?

It will get to you eventually. In any case, don’t miss the opportunity to visit us while we’re there.

→ You may use your real name, nickname, pen name, or the name you wish your parents picked for you, or your better sibling’s name, or a sound you really like, or your favorite motto, or your mom’s latest mantra. Give yourself any title you feel you deserve. Be a princess captain if you must, or a highness or lowness of any sort. Use your real name only if you like it. Use anything else only if it suits you better than your real name. Take this seriously. But don’t overthink it. Don’t underthink it either. This is crucial. No Pressure.

What is the Last Nation?

The Last Nation is the last nation isn’t a nation is the end of nations. Since its first flag was planted in Prague in 2021, the Last Nation has been quietly spreading and it will keep doing so, with your help, until the whole world is claimed. To find out more visit our Immigration Office in Berlin on May 24-25!


Where is the Last Nation?

The Last Nation is slowly but surely spreading from starting points at various locations around the world. We claim land the old fashion way: by planting a flag without asking who was here first and squinting dramatically at the horizon. Unlike other adepts of the practice however, we don’t kill or plunder. We don’t even say we’re here. We know it—and now you know it too—and that’s enough for now. At the moment, local governance, customs, laws and life on claimed territory remain unaffected. Each flag planted is a starting point from which our land spreads. While we start to lose track of our expansion, we expect it to reach an exponential rate anytime now. 


Am I already a citizen of the Last Nation?

You might be. If you have ever stepped on land claimed by the Last Nation, congratulations and welcome home! You are indeed a citizen of the Last Nation. But our official map is currently unavailable, so it’s hard to tell. If you want to be sure you may visit our Immigration Office on May 24-25: stepping inside will automatically make you a citizen. So will requesting a passport. 


Am I entitled to a passport?

YES! Issuance of the passport is unconditional. However, you must request it here.


Why do I need a Last Nation passport?

At this stage, you don’t need it, you want it. 


May I visit the Immigration Office just for fun, even if I didn’t request a passport?

Sure! Visit our exhibition on May 24-25 to learn about the foundational ideas behind the Last Nation, our plans for the future, our symbols, our land-claiming methods and our inexplicable love for bureaucracy. Request a “Little Expansionist Starter KIT” to become part of our territorial expansion efforts and meet fellow Last Nationals. 


A passport issued by an Immigration Office? Really?

Sure! Why not? We like to use the terms of the old world and we do so freely. We like how official they make us sound. It’s all nonsense, really. But thanks for pointing that out.


Wait, a Grand Opening AND Closing at the same time — on a weekend?

Our Immigration Offices will pop in and out of existence at various times and locations. They won’t always open and close on the same weekend, and you can look forward to many such events in the future—but that’s not an excuse to miss this one!  


What if I can’t make it on May 24-25?

You may still request a passport and pick it up at our next event. We’ll be in touch when it’s ready.


How can I help?

Any citizen is welcome and encouraged to help us grow! Anyone can become an accredited expansionist for the Last Nation. Visit our Immigration Office for a chance to get a starter Kit. See you Saturday, May 24 from 3pm to 8pm and Sunday, May 25, from 12pm to 5pm, at Gallery BcmA, Audre-Lorde-Straße 78, Berlin.

Our Land is where our Flag flies*

* or has been raised at some point. The absence of a flag doesn’t mean we were never there. The removal of our flag doesn’t stop our expansion. The Last Nation will keep spreading until the whole world is claimed.
